It’s been forever since my last blog post. No excuses. I have just been living, working, loving and growing. But I wanted to share with you all my latest freebie and tell you why you need a Good Things Journal!
Every month I plan to come here and talk about how my goals for 2020 are going. This year I am laser-focused on improving my health and my finances. I believe we need to audit our lives when we are serious about reaching new goals. We need to make sure we are not slipping into old habits. So, here is how I did for the month of January. Also, my thoughts on how our daily habits can create mind-blowing change and a freebie to help you audit your month.
If we don’t audit our goals, we can easily wake up in a few months and realize we have not accomplished any of the things we set out to do. I plan to do small things monthly in the hopes to make a major impact in my life over the next couple of months
Well, welcome back to Love, Jenell. I took a long break from blogging. At the end of 2018, I went from being a SAHM to a working mom. I also had invasive eye surgery. So, when the New Year rolled around I was still trying to find my balance and heal. BUT this year I am determined for it to be different. Next year I want to be more intentional with my actions. I’ve already started working on my 2020 goals. My 2017 Free Vision Board Printable, is by far my most popular post. So, I thought I would update it and reflect a tad bit on my 2019.
Spring is near! And while most people are clearing their houses of clutter, I think it’s a good idea to clear our lives of clutter. There are everyday things that take up space in our lives that are unnecessary. So, I thought of a few ways we can Spring clean our life. These changes aren’t grand, but they will help you to eliminate some clutter and become more in charge of your time, space, and coins. You don’t have to do everything on this list, but just by doing a few your Spring, and hopefully the rest of year, will be a bit more organized and productive.
Happy International Women’s Day!
The past couple of years have been all about the grind and showing up for yourself. But sometimes in the midst of the grind and showing up for ourselves, we forget to show up for those who show up for us. I know I am cheered on and supported by some amazing women who are doing life just like me. Thier support is a bonus to their friendship. I am not owed anything from them but friendship. But they still take some time to read my blog, share my posts or purchase from my shop. And for that, I am truly thankful. But beyond being thankful, I think I owe it to those who show up for me to show up for them.
The other day I was in my kitchen peeling a potato (so random), and I thought to myself “I prayed for this.” It’s something about realizing you are living an answered prayer that is humbling. You can see God’s grace working in your life. And me having this “I prayed for” moment was especially important. I was dealing with feelings of overwhelm. The list of things we have to do to our newly purchased was just a tad bit (lies! It was a lot longer) longer than the funds we have. I was also feeling down because earlier this month I was diagnosed with tendinitis in my finger and ordered not to do much with my hands (I probably shouldn’t be typing this). So, I was basically knee deep in a pity party when God showed me that I have so much to be grateful for. Because of that moment, I started to think about the few things, outside of my family, that brought me joy and that I am grateful for this month.
We all need a little push sometimes. And lately, I’ve needed a big push. I’m not sure what’s going on with me. Actually, I do. Starting the new year sick really threw me off my game, and I’ve been playing catch up since. I love order and schedules, so not really being on a schedule has really been difficult for me. And playing catch up is exhausting and overwhelming. When trying to get back on track, there are few ways I pump myself up to get back on track, reading or listening to a self-development/business podcast is usually my go-to. But sometimes I come across motivational quotes that get me all the way together. So, I wanted to share with you all a few motivational quotes by some amazing Black women (it is Black History Month after all) that will get you back on track and ready to take over the world.
