Sometimes we can be in situations that look crazy and feel uncomfortable, but we may be exactly where God wants us to be. We could be living an answered prayer at the same time that we are going through a difficult situation. You prayed to start a new business. You prayed for a new job. You prayed to relocate. You prayed to go back to school. You prayed for a healthy relationship. So what you don’t know anyone in your new city; you’ll make friends. So what you are tired from studying; you’ll be done with school before you know it. So what your funds are low because you are starting a business; things will turn around. Don’t let your right now make you romanticize your past, the very things you prayed God to deliver you from. I would rather put my trust in God and look towards the future then turn around and quit.
I don’t want to be like the Israelites reminiscing about how “good” slavery was because my current situation doesn’t reflect how I thought God would answer my prayers (Exodus 16:3). And if I’m being honest; sometimes when I pray for things I have a vision of how God will bring it to past, and in those visions my prayers are NEVER brought to pass through troubles. I have to remind myself that God never told us that we will be without trouble, but he did promise us that we will be victorious (1 Corinthians 15:57). I don’t want to find myself standing in the middle of an answered prayer and being ready to quit because it doesn’t look like how I imagined.
It’s ok to cry and get tired while building your dreams, but we cannot give up. It’s so easy to romanticize the past when the present seems shaky. But don’t let your mind trick you into settling for the less when the best is ahead. When you are crying, tired and ready to give up, remember those days you prayed for God to turn things around. We can’t pray for new opportunities and then complain and want to quit because of the journey it takes to reach these goals.
You gotta hold on. Don’t turn back. Don’t give up. It will be worth in the end. Put a new song in your heart. Be joyful. When you have too much school work or you have to do too much to get your business off the ground, sit back and realize that this is what YOU prayed for and GOD answered! If that doesn’t excite you, I don’t know what will. The fact that with all the people in the world, God heard YOUR prayer and decided to answer it. NO the journey doesn’t look pretty, but you cannot quit. God is with you!
You are living your answered prayer. You got this and God’s got you!
