I can’t believe it’s October already. Where did the time go? With only a quarter of the year left, I’ve been thinking about how I can best prepare for next year and the things that can be accomplished in the 4th quarter of this year.
I took a hiatus last month to think of the direction I wanted to take my blog. While I loved the name Mama’s Got This, I enjoyed writing about faith and inspiration a bit more than writing about motherhood. I intend for Love, Jenell to be a place where I share my personal stories of overcoming a difficult season, my journey of starting a business and inspiration through the Word of God. So welcome to my new site. Same content. New name. Different look.
This week I read and came across a few things that I wanted to share. If you missed the last Friday Favorites, which ended up being posted on Monday, you can read it HERE. There’s no podcast or videos this week, but I do share three things I read that I loved. If you read or listened to a podcast or sermon this week that you loved, drop it in the comment section!
This post was supposed to go live on Friday, but my mind was so unsettled that I just couldn’t get it out. I still wanted to share some things that I listened to that last week that brought me some joy during a tragic week.
If you are in transitioning into a new stage in life or wanting new things to happen in your life, I encourage you to be intentional in what you are reading and listening too. Find podcast, devotionals, blogs, etc that support your dreams and goals. My hope is that you find out about a podcast, website or person through my lists and you become encouraged.
This week I kick of my 4 Week Self-Care series with a Guest Post! The next 4 Wednesdays, I’ll be focusing on different ways we can intentionally take care of ourselves. I know the hustle and bustle of life can cause us to neglect ourselves, but I’m hoping this series will inspire you to create your own self-care rituals.
Oh! And Mama’s Got This is now on facebook! It’s new and a little bare, so go ease on me. Make sure you like the page, because at the end of this series I will be hosting a giveaway! Like the page HERE. Without Further Ado!
Did you all know that Friday, July 1st marked the second half of the year? You know what that means?
We still have 6 months to make 2016 amazing. I think this is the perfect time to self-reflect and think about the goals we have accomplished and the things we have put on the back burner.
And honestly, I need these next 6 months. At the end of 2015, I set some goals for myself. While I rocked some, I forgot about others. One goal that I totally forgot about this year was my desire to be more social. I’ve lived in Philly for a while and have not formed many connections/friendships. The topic of godly counsel and godly friendships has been reoccurring in sermons and devotionals I’ve been reading and listening to. It’s been convicting me to step outside my comfort zone. So, this is one goal I will be reexamining and acting on this goal the next 6 months.
June was always filled with doom and gloom for me. Some years I would question why I would be in such a foul mood, but then I would look and see that it was June and it all made sense. See not only had my father passed away, but he passed the day before Father’s Day. So Father’s Day became this constant reminder of loss and hurt. It’s been 12 years since I lost my father, while I am in a much better place now, it has not always been that way.
