It’s been forever since my last blog post. No excuses. I have just been living, working, loving and growing. But I wanted to share with you all my latest freebie and tell you why you need a Good Things Journal!
Well, welcome back to Love, Jenell. I took a long break from blogging. At the end of 2018, I went from being a SAHM to a working mom. I also had invasive eye surgery. So, when the New Year rolled around I was still trying to find my balance and heal. BUT this year I am determined for it to be different. Next year I want to be more intentional with my actions. I’ve already started working on my 2020 goals. My 2017 Free Vision Board Printable, is by far my most popular post. So, I thought I would update it and reflect a tad bit on my 2019.
We all need a little push sometimes. And lately, I’ve needed a big push. I’m not sure what’s going on with me. Actually, I do. Starting the new year sick really threw me off my game, and I’ve been playing catch up since. I love order and schedules, so not really being on a schedule has really been difficult for me. And playing catch up is exhausting and overwhelming. When trying to get back on track, there are few ways I pump myself up to get back on track, reading or listening to a self-development/business podcast is usually my go-to. But sometimes I come across motivational quotes that get me all the way together. So, I wanted to share with you all a few motivational quotes by some amazing Black women (it is Black History Month after all) that will get you back on track and ready to take over the world.
January is almost over! That was pretty quick. Well, for me it was. And a lot of In order to hold myself accountable and actually remember what happened each month, I plan to review my lessons and wins for the month and plan out my major goals for the following month. Let me know if you all enjoy posts like this.
I’ve been thinking a lot about the New Year and how often this can be a discouraging time, especially if you have big goals. It’s easy to feel like you aren’t doing enough. Sometimes it is difficult to see how your day to day actions impact your larger goals. We know we should be doing these small things. Sending the emails. Doing the research. Creating the content. But when results aren’t immediately seen, some people like to turn around or throw in the towel. I just want us to keep going. To not expect every day to be filled with big breaks, and for us to honor the small things that help us achieve our big goals.
This time of year we all need positive voices cheering us on and letting us know that we got this! I am a HUGE fan of listening to personal development and Christian podcasts that encourage listeners to make positive changes in their life. So, I put together a list of amazing motivational podcasts episodes that will provide you with encouragement and knowledge to make sure you win in 2018. What we listen to is soooo important. Make sure what you are listening to is feeding your dreams and starving your fears and doubts. And as a bonus, I included 2 youtube videos that I watched this year that I enjoyed.
All the podcasts can be found on Apple, Stitcher and Google Play. But you can also click on the pink link to listen to the exact episode.

Happy New Year! I pray 2018 is starting off wonderful for everyone. I know that if you are reading this you are an ambitious goal setter, which means that you are more than likely working on how to make 2018 amazing. There are tons of things we can do to make sure that we are successful in the new year, but I believe the one thing that is essential to our success is self-reflection. How can we grow into the person we want to be if we never reflect on who we currently are? So, for me the key to growth and self-improvement is self-reflection.
Fresh start. Clean slate. New Beginnings.
In the New Year, lots of people are looking to leave the old behind and start anew. Rather it is a spiritual, health or mental cleanse, I think it’s a great to complete a cleanse in order to go into the New Year lighter and focused. For me, a cleanse shows me how strong I truly am. I completed THIS juice fast once and felt like a boss after those 3 days were over. I was ready to take over the world. And isn’t that how you want to feel at the top of the year….like a boss.
In October, I decided to get a jump start on my 2018 goals. I wanted to balance motherhood, being a wife, my blog and my Etsy shop a lot better. I didn’t want for life to happen (You know, Doctor’s appointments, sick kids, meetings, laundry) and I not get any work done. I knew that I had time in my schedule I just had to figure out how to best utilize it. I implemented 3 things into my routine in October to help make sure I am making the most of my time and working towards my business and blogging goals. Although I talk about balancing motherhood and business, these tips would work fine with anyone trying to find time to work on their goals.
Last year I made a list of questions for the new year that we should ask ourselves before we plan our goals. And the list is still very relevant, and you can find it HERE. I will still ask myself these questions, but this year the most important question I am asking myself is, “what will this require of me?”
