Let's Start Planning!

How I Am Facing My Fear of Self-Promotion *Plus a Giveaway!* Closes 11/27/17

Facing Fears

Can I be transparent for a moment? Since starting Love, Jenell and my Etsy Shop, Love, Jenell,  have always struggled with voice and self-promotion. I don’t know what it is. The fear of failure? The fear of judgment? Self-doubt? People seeing me in a new light? I’m not quite sure. Maybe it’s a mix of everything. There’s something about creating something and putting it out for the world to see that makes me nervous. However, what I do know is that my nerves are not doing my blog or business any favors. I am keenly aware that the things I want for my blog and business will require a more shameless Jenell…a different version of myself.

So, here’s to being shameless. These last few weeks of 2017, I am focused on creating content and products and sharing them with everyone I know more. How exactly am I facing my fears? I’m just doing it. I’m feeling the fear and doing it anyway. Be prepared to see a little more of me on social media promoting both my blog and Etsy shop.

In an effort to put myself out there and promote my Etsy shop, I created a Youtube video! It’s to show people how to make the most out of the items in my shop on a budget. While the introvert in me is shaking in my boots, I am excited to share my talents and creativity in a new and bold way. Make sure you are subscribed to my YouTube channel more tutorials and inspirational videos to come. I look forward to creating more video content for Love, Jenell.

I released several new products in my Etsy shop. When I tell you, I have been sitting on these plans for 1 year and never pulled the trigger. I even created a few products last Thanksgiving and just never listed them. I knew that expanding my offerings would also help me reach more customers, and I still didn’t do it. I never felt like it was the right time. But I am ready now. So, check out the new offerings. More things will be added December. Check out my SHOP HERE.

And to celebrate my new items, I’ll be hosting a giveaway!  One lucky reader will win a mug of their choice! You have two ways to enter, by liking my facebook page and subscribing to my newsletter. You can subscribe to the newsletter by clicking the button near the end of this post. The giveaway ends on Monday, so hurry and enter!

I’ve also started to share my blog post on both my blog Facebook and personal Facebook pages. And I’m looking forward to sharing my new products on my Facebook and Instagram pages. In addition to Facebook and Instagram, I’ve also started to use Pinterest as a source of traffic to my blog.

These are just a few things I’m doing to promote myself more. Nothing earth-shattering. But they do force me out of hiding and make me show up. Because that’s what I was really doing, hiding. I know that things I want to achieve can’t be achieved in hiding.  A few days ago I was reading my Morning devotional and it discussed wants and needs, and this quote stuck out to me:”Often, when we realize we want something, the feeling is God preparing us to receive.” So, this is me getting over my fears and in position to receive.

And if you are starting something new and are afraid to put yourself out there, just do it.  As Marianne Williamson says, “you playing small doesn’t serve the world. There’s nothing enlightening about shrinking so others won’t feel insecure around you. As you let your own light shine, you indirectly give others permission to do the same.” Be bold and brave. You don’t know who you may be inspiring.

So, this is how I am facing my fears. What steps can you take to face your fears?

Used this kit with my boyfriend and his family for New Year's eve to set our goals for 2021 and they all loved it! Made us really think deeper about our goals and what we should work on this year.

So easy to use. I added these to my digital sticker collection for my and digital planners notebooks. I love using these stickers as add-ons. Representation definitely matters and seeing these beautiful graphics give me a little nudge of motivation and inspiration.

Jenell was amazing. She was very helpful and answered any question. The files worked perfectly and I will definitely purchase again.
